This website is operated by yours truly, who goes by a few aliases online. In the pokémon fandom, I currently am aiming for standardization as Empoleon, as I quite enjoy that pokémon. I also enjoy Arcanine and Sceptile. Really I'd like a witty, original name with some conenction to pokémon, but I'm not exactly good with aliases. I also go by Near, which is a reference to the anime Death Note. I myself am American, aged 16. I can drive and got my license on my birthday, unlike a staggering amount of people that I know. I'm definitely not social, though I'd prefer to be more so than I do. I'm rather intelligence (99% percentile and that crap on standardized tests), which isn't that amazing and pretty boring. I find school rather enjoyable, but overall don't find it that exciting. At school, I play tennis and participate in orchestra and Science Olympiad. Yippee! But, other than that, I also write fanfiction and original fiction, though currently I'm not working on anything of either. I fail at discipline, so I'm very excited that I actually got this site up. Physically, I am quite tall. 6'10'' (2.083m) at last measurement, which is on the edge of the bell curve. I am brown-haired and blue eyed. Dutch, ethnically. I'm not that athletic and probably should actually do something outside at some point. (Remember when I said I lacked discipline?) I'm not that good looking.
I enjoy pokémon because of its inherent appeal. Fantastic adventures which in our world are quite expensive and challenging are easy to be had in the pokémon universes. Society is also portrayed as rather utopian. The environment is perfect, criminal agencies are defeated by the independent works of children, and generally life is a lot simpler. I'm not sure if that would be better, but it is nice to enjoy. The franchise also has a lot of facets, meaning that there's always something to fit my mood. I mostly enjoy the manga and fanfiction, but occasionally watch the anime and very rarely pick up my DS Lite and play the games. I'm not really much of a gamer, at least for roleplaying games. I honestly prefer first person shooters, though I don't play any either.
As far as this site goes, it was born as concept in roughly 2006. Since then, there was a horribly ugly stab that ran from October 2007 to December 2007. Then there was nothing. I created a few layouts that came and went, but never really amounted to anything. The current form was attempted via Wordpress in April, but I ultimately decided Wordpress was too bulky for my tastes. Thus, we have this current form. Hopefully this site will last a while. Eventually, I'll be getting a domain name. Really, I'm not certain about the title, but it fits for now.
This site is well-coded and all articles will be relatively well written. I'm not exactly eloquent, but I know my way around words. This site should validated in HTML 4.01 and the only reason it doesn't validate in CSS2.1 is that opacity isn't supported. Regardless, it's not that big of a deal, and the only browser it doesn't render in is IE8. This website has been tested in the latest public releases of the most popular five browsers - IE8, Firefox, Safari (albeit for Windows), Chrome, and Opera. You probably will be fine if you're using any of those or many others that are roughly standards compliant. If you're using IE6, upgrade. Seriously. You're two editions behind and IE6 was a horrible browser anyways.
Any questions or comments can be sent to empoleon395[at]gmail[dot]com. Just replace the symbols. Otherwise, I've a slew of accounts on other forums that I'm not active in. Once I decide which ones I'll actually start posting at again, I'll list them here. Until then, you can e-mail me. Also, I'm usually on AIM as frostnovelist, which is mostly a writing-based name as that's about all I use AIM for, specifically word wars.
